General Skilled Migration:
General Skilled migration visas target-qualified people aged below 45, and having good English language skills. For most but not all of the visas in this category, applicants must pass
the points test. There are few visas, for instance, the skilled designated area-sponsored, and the skills matching visas, where the points test does not apply but the applicant has to satisfy
other skill requirements. Applicant for any of these skilled visas must nominate an approved skilled occupation.
The Family Migration program allows Australian Citizens, permanent residents and eligible New Zealand citizens to sponsor some categories of relatives to migrate to or live
permanently in Australia. However the visa applicant and the visa sponsor must meet all the requirements for the visa.
This category of visa is designed to attract applicants to Australia who have the skills to enhance the Australian economy-by developing links with international markets exporting
Australian goods and service, introducing new technology.
